. Star-Spangled Banner Stained Glass Wind Chime. Tuned to the opening notes of the US national anthem, Star Spangled Banner. Made from cherry finish ash wood, aluminum, and glass. Overall length is approximately 24 inches (61 cm). Includes original manufacturers box and packaging. Made by Woodstock. Featuring a stained-glass windcatcher inspired by the American flag, this spirited-sounding chime is tuned to the first six notes of the Star-Spangled Banner. Originally written in 1814 as a poem to commemorate what turned out to be the last American war against England, the words are by Francis Scott Key, an American lawyer, and the melody is by John Stafford Smith, an English composer. The song was officially proclaimed our national anthem in 1931 by Congress. It is sung at professional sporting events and concerts.
