Woodstock Star-Spangled Banner Chime - Stained Glass USAS
Tuned to the opening notes of our national anthem.
Featuring a stained-glass windcatcher inspired by the American flag, this spirited-sounding chime is tuned to the first six notes of the Star-Spangled Banner. Originally written in 1814 as a poem to commemorate what turned out to be the last American war against England, the words are by Francis Scott Key, an American lawyer, and the melody is by John Stafford Smith, an English composer. The song was officially proclaimed our national anthem in 1931 by Congress. It is sung at professional sporting events and concerts, with notable renditions by Jimi Hendrix, Igor Stravinsky, Jose Feliciano and Lady Gaga, to name a few.
